Looking on the SGI web page (http://vrml.sgi.com/developer/) in hopes they might have a converter to take VRML 2 files into VRML 1, they don't seem to; however, they do point to a converter which takes Deneb robotics model and part files into VRML 1.0, which geomview's vrml2oogl can read. Is that any help?
