[ REQ 6101]: axes labels

Hi,

we are the Nonlinear Physics Group at the University of
Bremen and plan to use Geomview for an upcoming paper.
We need to display 3-d surfaces with coordinate axes
which we then want to render using BMRT. 
However, in order to label the coordinate axes we want to
use a capital I and greek indices. We used labeler to make
a list of all letters (we use SGI's). In this list 
(alphabet.list) we used 
{List 
{define A {QUAD data}} 
{define B {QUAD data}}
etc.
}
to define all the letters we need. With this we can produce
the needed label I[xi] ([xi] means it's an index) by doing
the following:

{geometry Ixi { LIST
{ INST geom { : I } transform { 1 0 0 0  0 1 0 0  0 0 1 0  0 0 0 1 } }

What we weren't able to do was to define I[xi] as ONE object 
and use it to label one of the coordinate axes. Is it 
possible to define two letters as one object and use it, i.e.
transform it together. This would simplify the labelling
considerably. 
We apologize in advance if this question has been asked 
millions of times before.  We decided to use Geomview rather
recently and are not part of the Geomview mailing list.
