The Geomview distribution for the Sun needs about 13 megabytes of disk space;
you could probably cut that to about 10 MB after installation if you don't
need all the external modules.  With a moderately large data set, it uses
about 4-5 megabytes of real memory; you could probably run it on a system with
16MB without much trouble, though a bit more might help.
