That's odd.  We do see warnings from GNU make about targets being
mentioned multiple times in the same rule, but they don't seem to be
fatal errors; it works anyway.  Are you sure there's no other error?

Re using DEC's "make": that's worth a try, too.  Their "make" seems to
treat the "include" directive differently from most others, so there's
a change you may need to make in Geomview/makefiles/Makedefs.global, namely

MKFILEDIR = ${GEOM}/makefiles

should become

MKFILEDIR = .

We've actually needed this on the DEC Alpha, but it's possible that the
same change is important on other DEC versions of make.
